Sigli partnered with a highly respected IT consulting firm to build an immersive wholesale web portal for an eyewear manufacturing and distribution company. The portal supports a triannual in-person event and opens it up to a global audience. It includes an ecommerce store, real-time updates and personalised product recommendations, all as part of its “showroom” experience.

Our partner is an innovative digital product design, digital transformation, and IT consulting firm with head offices in Milan, Italy.
Its services span data intelligence, finance, human capital, CRM, supply chain management and ecommerce. It regularly takes on complex projects that span multiple of these functions simultaneously.
Our shared client is the largest eyewear company in the world. It owns many well-known brands and retail outlet chains.
In recent years, the eyewear industry has seen significant changes in buying patterns. This has prompted company-wide digital transformation initiatives among sellers — including our client, the industry’s undisputed leader.
Our client holds a triannual event where buyers gather to see new eyewear collections and industry technology. It has traditionally been an in-person event. However, they were eager to expand its reach and drive sales among customers unable to attend.
This created the need for an accessible platform, integrated with real-time event data, with personalised ecommerce and inventory tools. Such a platform would allow for a hybrid in-person and digital approach that caters to a wide network of global partners.
By digitising wholesale buying, our client hoped to respond more effectively to market demand, reduce event overheads, minimise human error and, importantly, increase order volume.
Sigli partnered with a leading IT consulting and digital transformation firm to build a complete web application. We designed a process that drew on the unique talents of both teams: Sigli’s in-depth technical expertise and our partner’s extensive experience in directing digital transformation programmes.
Complete system microservices architecture setup, including development environments.
User experience (UX) brainstorming and testing to design intuitive, brand-aligned interfaces
Creation of a web portal with all required ecommerce, inventory management and showroom features
Quality assurance (QA) testing to ensure stability and usability
Ongoing post-launch support, debugging, and feature implementation
Communication was via virtual meetings with key partner and client stakeholders. We used email and WhatsApp as always-on channels.
The project followed an Agile methodology, which provided a structured yet flexible delivery framework. Communication comprised daily meetings and regular sprint planning, retrospectives and product refinement calls.
Alongside our partners, we launched a web portal that digitised our client’s events, making virtual attendance among global clients possible.
Use of the platform improved operational efficiency, automated time-consuming inventory tasks, and allowed for centralised order tracking. Comprehensive post-release support was provided.
Defined a comprehensive project roadmap and set up development architecture and platform infrastructure
Collaborated with UX professionals to optimise designs for usability
Built and launched a browser-based web portal with full feature implementation
Conducted thorough quality assurance (QA), user testing, and ongoing post-completion stabilisation, debugging, and feature implementation
Sigli gave valuable support and assistance through all stages of the development lifecycle, ensuring that we were able to bring the project to completion on time and with all quality assurance and debugging tasks completed. We have no hesitation in recommending them for all projects, big and small. Ten out of ten.
